Discover the district by bike - new maps now available

The free cycle maps of the Ludwigsburg district have been redesigned and, with their modernized, fresh design, invite cyclists to rediscover well-known tourist cycle routes or to explore the beautiful and varied landscape of the district on new cycle routes.

Just in time for the start of the 2024 cycling season, the district has reissued the "Landkreis Ludwigsburg" cycle map and the cycle maps of the Celtic and Glemsmühlen trails. Based on the design principles of the umbrella brand "Echt.Schön.Schräg. Die Steillagen im Landkreis Ludwigsburg.", the cycle maps appear in a fresh, modern and uniform design.

The cycle maps are now available free of charge at the citizen information desk in Ludwigsburg district hall and in many towns and municipalities in the district. If you have any questions, the Ludwigsburg District Office will be happy to help by e-mail at Tourismus[at]Landkreis-Ludwigsburg.de.

New design and interesting information: Celtic Trail, Glemsmühlenweg and more

The free "Ludwigsburg district" cycle map was published for the first time in 2020. The new map provides an overview of the routes of eleven tourist cycle paths as well as the district's network of everyday cycle paths. In addition to brief route descriptions, the map includes elevation profiles, links to the relevant websites and, as a special feature, information on the length of the respective tourist cycle routes in the district of Ludwigsburg.

The cycle maps of the Celtic Trail and the Glemsmühlenweg have also been redesigned and their content revised. For example, the Glemsmühlenweg cycle map now includes information on shopping, refreshment and sightseeing opportunities in the participating mills. On the Celtic Trail, the background information on the Celtic sites has been reworked and up-to-date images have been incorporated.

Cycle path signage is currently being updated

Following some necessary route adjustments, the cycle path signage for the Celtic Trail and Glems Mill Trail is also currently being updated on site. It is also planned to replace the information boards at the 18 mills and the nine Celtic sites in the first half of the year and adapt them to the new design of the cycle maps for a uniform appearance. Nothing stands in the way of a relaxing cycle tour.
