The head of the district administration looked back on Trost's first term of office: "In the last eight years, Marbach am Neckar has developed positively and you have initiated, supported and implemented many projects." He cited the expansion of the daycare landscape, the general refurbishment of the Friedrich-Schiller-Gymnasium (FSG) and the education center as examples. Digitalization was given a strong boost by the launch of the fibre optic connection at FSG in summer 2020, Allgaier continued. A lot had also been done for the elderly people of Marbach, with the new care home in Rielingshausen being built and the community bus established in the town center. "Building and urban development have been a focus of your policies in recent years anyway: the pedestrian zone was redesigned with broad public participation and Niklastorstrasse was closed to through traffic." In the economic sector, progress has been made with the establishment of EnBW Baden-Württemberg's grid stability plant in the Energy and Technology Park and the new company location for EgeTrans. Finally, Marbach, together with Benningen, has been awarded the contract for the major garden show project for 2033: "I would like to offer you, as well as the municipal council, the support and guidance of the district, because the garden show will have an impact far beyond the city and district boundaries."
There had been many points of contact between the city and the district in the development of the clinic site. In this context, Allgaier expressly thanked the local councillors for the good cooperation. "I very much hope that we can now continue on the path we have taken on the basis of mutual understanding," said the district administrator.
He concluded by looking to the future: "It is now important and essential for you as mayor, but also for the members of the municipal council, to focus on factual work. Sometimes it helps in such situations to press the 'reset' button and simply start from the beginning. Mr. Trost, you now have the chance to do this, as you are at the very beginning of your second term of office. And as I know you and have also been able to get to know many members of the municipal council personally over the past year, I am sure that you will succeed in doing this together and that you will tackle and tackle the tasks of the future together." After all, Trost has a lot planned for the next eight years in his election program. Allgaier wished Trost all the best, lots of success, perseverance, creative drive and a "lucky hand". He is looking forward to continuing to work with Trost, both as mayor and as district councillor.
