District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier, Head of Social Affairs Heiner Pfrommer and Social Planner Christiane Keuter were guests at Habila in Markgröningen. Allgaier, who is also a member of the district council's social committee, said that he was pleased to be able to get to know the facility for people with physical or multiple disabilities from the inside. The visitors were welcomed by Kristin Schwarz, Director of the Baden-Württemberg Municipal Association for Youth and Social Affairs, and Habila Managing Director Joachim Kiefer.
Kristin Schwarz pointed out the importance of Habila's specialized services for people with disabilities throughout Württemberg. Joachim Kiefer emphasized that the diverse relationships and intensive contacts in the town's community are a special feature of the Markgröningen location among Habila's facilities. Although Habila's facilities in the Ludwigsburg district are comparatively small, Ferdinand Schäffler, responsible for the Social Participation and Care division at Habila, reported that Habila provides the most complex range of care services of all its locations here due to the differentiated assistance requirements.
After a brief presentation of Habila's various areas of activity and services, the panel discussed current issues and challenges in the field of disability and integration assistance. The topic of an urgently needed replacement building for 24 care places was also discussed. Some of the buildings on the site of the Habila central facility in Markgröningen, some of which are listed buildings, no longer meet modern requirements in terms of fire protection and assistance services. Habila is therefore currently examining location options for a new building. During a final tour of the site, the visitors were able to gain their own impression of Habila's services.
