Ludwigsburg district office successful in CITY CYCLING

The Ludwigsburg district office was very successful in the STADTRA-DELN campaign. 113 cyclists covered 32,415 kilometers in three weeks, saving almost 4800 kilograms of carbon dioxide.

A group of eight individuals stands in a courtyard, each holding a certificate. They are accompanied by bicycles and a man in a suit. The scene suggests a celebration of an achievement or recognition event related to cycling or environmental awareness.

District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier was delighted with the high level of participation in "Team Landratsamt" and "Team LRA FB40 - Family & Friends". 95 active employees and 18 family members or alumni pedaled hard from July 1 to 21. "You did something good for yourselves and for the environment," said the district administrator, thanking the sporty participants and handing out practical little gifts such as high-visibility vests, cycling maps from the region and local juice.

In total, the 113 cyclists "pedaled" 32,415 kilometers. With a mileage of 287 kilometers per participant, this is even slightly above the district average of 249 kilometers. In the entire district, 6194 cyclists covered a whopping 1,540,456 kilometers. The participants with the most kilometers will be honored again at a special event after the summer vacations. Ten "bike packages" will also be raffled off.

This is the fourth time in a row that the district of Ludwigsburg has taken part in the CITY CYCLING campaign. Many local authorities, private teams, clubs and simply cycling enthusiasts have also registered. The aim of the campaign is to make a contribution to climate protection, to set an example for increased cycling promotion, but above all to have fun cycling.
