District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier said on the occasion of the anniversary: "We would like to express our solidarity with the State of Israel through our participation in the campaign and pay special tribute to this anniversary. Through our partnership with the Upper Galilee region, we are connected to Israel in a very special way."
Despite the pandemic, the district of Ludwigsburg remains in close contact with the partner region of the Upper Galilee. At the end of January, for example, a joint video was recorded with friends from Israel to commemorate the 76th Holocaust Memorial Day. They also regularly exchanged information about the coronavirus situation and vaccination progress. "But I am also looking forward to real encounters being possible again and finally being able to make up for my inaugural visit to the Upper Galilee," said District Administrator Allgaier.
The friendship between the region in the north of Israel and the district has existed since 1983 and is the district's oldest partnership. It was officially sealed in 1997 with the exchange of partnership documents.
