"The services for grieving children and young people are important when a parent, sibling or close relative has died. Children perceive the burdens of grieving relatives and take responsibility. In the children's and young people's bereavement groups, it is possible for children to ask their questions without having to take things into consideration - and can therefore grieve in their own way," said District Administrator Haas.
The children and youth bereavement work is part of the Ecumenical Hospice Initiative in the district of Ludwigsburg. It will soon be celebrating its fifth anniversary. The children and young people's bereavement project focuses on the following areas: Prevention work, support for grieving children and young people, qualification and support for volunteers of the children and young people's hospice service, event-related offers for kindergartens and schools as well as public relations work. Current offers include the riding group for grieving children aged eight to twelve, the KINDERtrauerCLUB, the ELTERNtrauerCAFÉ, the JUGENDtrauerGRUPPE, the FAMILIENtrauerNACHMITTAG and "Du fehlst mir - Abend für junge Erwachsene, die trauern". District Administrator Dr. Haas has been the patron of child and youth bereavement work in the district of Ludwigsburg since 2014.
