In the letter, District Administrator Allgaier thanks Sellner for his life's work in local politics. It goes on to say: "For over 30 years, you worked on a voluntary basis as a member of our district council for the good and successful development of our district and made valuable contributions, particularly in the former culture and school committee, the administration committee and the social committee."
Allgaier also highlighted Sellner's work as a local councillor, first alderman and for 16 years as mayor of Gerlingen from 1983 to 1999. "Being mayor was a dream job for you and you were able to realize numerous important projects in this responsible office with a lot of energy, diligence and great personal commitment."
Albrecht Sellner always looked beyond the town's borders: "You saw the personal and lively cultivation of twinning relationships and friendships between Gerlingen and the district with people from the twin towns and districts as a matter close to your heart." As an art lover and expert, Sellner also curated and opened many exhibitions, including in the district hall, and gave lectures. "I would also like to take this opportunity to thank you once again for this commitment, which has enriched us all," said District Administrator Allgaier.
