District Administrator Allgaier bids farewell to Schiller-vhs director Jürgen Schmiedel and welcomes his successor Constanze Weis - "You were a good boss and introduced successful new formats"

District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier bid farewell to Jürgen Schmiedel, Director of the Schiller Adult Education Center in the district of Ludwigsburg, at the meeting of the Culture, Schools and Europe Committee on Monday afternoon (June 15). Schmiedel is retiring for reasons of age. At the same time, the head of the district administration welcomed Constanze Weis as the new head of the district's Schiller-vhs from July 1.

Three smiling individuals stand together in an indoor setting. One person on the left holds a bouquet of flowers in a basket. The middle individual wears glasses and a light-colored shirt, while the person on the right is in a dark suit with a striped tie. They appear to be celebrating a special occasion.

District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier (1st from right) bid farewell to Schiller-vhs director Jürgen Schmiedel and welcomed his successor Constanze Weis.

District Administrator Allgaier emphasized that Schmiedel had worked in almost all departments of the Schiller-vhs for 35 years, the last seven years as its director. "You introduced successful new formats, such as the health forum and the 'Marbacher Köpfe', and were a good boss who listened to and implemented the concerns of his employees. At the same time, as a mathematician, you always had the right eye for the numbers," said Allgaier, paying tribute to the outgoing head of Schiller-vhs.

Schmiedel's successor is Constanze Weis. The 54-year-old will take over the management of Schiller-vhs on July 1. She has been deputy director of Schiller-vhs since 2014, quality officer and responsible for the educational workshops as well as for the specialist areas of nature, environment, technology, business and consumer issues.

The district's Schiller-vhs has 34 employees. It offers around 3,400 events each year, which are attended by around 42,000 people in total.
