At the meeting of the Culture, Education and Europe Committee, the district administration reported on the meetings and visits of the past year and gave an outlook on the 2023 annual program. Not least the current situation in Ukraine shows how important international contacts and friendships are.
Youth meetings can take place again in 2022/23 after the pandemic-related break. Several schools in the district maintain good contacts with the Upper Galilee in Israel: Alfred-Amann-Gymnasium Bönnigheim, Friedrich-Schiller-Gymnasium Marbach, Oscar-Paret-Schule Freiberg, Robert-Bosch-Gymnasium Gerlingen for 25 years now and Robert-Franck-Schule Ludwigsburg for even longer. The exchanges are characterized by discussions with contemporary witnesses, visits to important sites such as the PKC Freudental and thematic discussions on questions of responsibility.
One of the highlights of 2022 was the "re-signing" of the 1997 partnership agreement between the district of Ludwigsburg and the Upper Galilee region by District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier and Chairman Giora Salz, who will be making his farewell visit to the district of Ludwigsburg in June 2023. A delegation from the district council will travel to the Upper Galilee for a return visit in September 2023.
After 20 years, the intensive friendship with the province of Bergamo in Italy was elevated to an official partnership in 2022. The focus of the partnership activities will be on encounters between young people. A first step in planned partnerships between schools will be the exchange of trainees between the Erich-Bracher-Schule Kornwestheim-Pattonville and companies in Bergamo.
The district also has a partnership with Pest County in Hungary. The Friedrich-List-Gymnasium Asperg exchange and the youth nature conservation camp will take place again in 2023.
Those responsible are looking forward to the anniversaries of the 70th European Schools Competition and the 20th European Quiz of the Ludwigsburg district, for which the award ceremony will take place on June 19, 2023 in the Ludwigsburg district hall. As yet without a specific date, a municipal climate protection conference is being planned for 2024, which is to become a platform for networking and encounters for all partner municipalities and regions in the district of Ludwigsburg.
