Long-term health developments, increasing physical impairments, growing mental limitations, for example in the case of dementia, or sudden changes such as after an accident - you can quickly find yourself faced with the task of finding out about care and having to make decisions.
A total of 14 employees are now available at five locations in the district to provide people with care needs, relatives and interested parties with information and advice on how to organize their care.
"This is a further intermediate step on the way to a needs-based advisory structure," says Jürgen Vogt, First State Official and Deputy District Administrator, and adds: "We assume that the service will be further expanded in the medium term with the financial support of the health and long-term care insurance companies in order to meet the increasing demand for advice in the run-up to and around care."
The central task of the care support centers is to provide neutral, free and confidential advice to people of all ages with care needs and their relatives. The advice is free of charge.
The topics covered by the advice are varied. These include clarifying questions in advance of care, the compatibility of care with family and work and the possibilities of reorganizing everyday life due to the need for support or care. Support at home or moving into a care facility are also important topics for advice. There is also advice for people with memory problems and their relatives. If required, the care support point will draw up an individual assistance plan for each case or coordinate individual assistance.
Further advice centers are planned directly in Gerlingen and Kornwestheim.
