The series of events under the motto "Migrantinnen starten durch!" is intended to support women with a history of migration in their social and professional integration. The aim is to strengthen and promote their position as women. To this end, the events will highlight opportunities and possibilities and provide suggestions for shaping their professional and social future. In addition to migrant women, the target group also includes public offices, institutions, associations and organizations, which, as multipliers for women with a migration background, represent an important source of information on site and can provide significant impetus. At a market of opportunities, exhibitors will provide information about district-wide and local integration offers, vocational training offers, career re-entry and women-specific issues. At the same time, the participants will discuss current needs and challenges, ideas and wishes with the visitors.
The series of events is based on the idea of reaching migrant women locally in the municipalities and cities and encouraging them to seize opportunities for professional and social participation.
According to District Administrator Dr. Rainer Haas, the concept thus combines two important goals of the district: "With the new series of events, the district of Ludwigsburg has created a concept that not only focuses on the integration of women into society and the job market, but also links this topic specifically with the integration of migrant women. The district of Ludwigsburg thus offers a unique concept for promoting the professional and social participation of women with a migration background."
Martin Scheel, Head of the Ludwigsburg Employment Agency, sees this series of events as an opportunity to reach even more women with a migration background and counteract possible disadvantages. "We want all people living here to be able to make full use of their potential. We can only achieve this if we offer our fellow citizens with foreign roots very targeted information and advice opportunities," says Scheel.
The kick-off event will take place on Friday, October 18, 2019, from 9.30 am to 11.30 am in the community hall in Schwieberdingen and will begin with a welcome from Schwieberdingen Mayor Nico Lauxmann. Further follow-up events will take place with the town of Besigheim on Thursday, November 7, 2019, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and with the large district town of Remseck am Neckar in February 2020.
