The Ludwigsburg district will once again be represented this year with its own booth in the Hall of Regions (Hall 4) at the Agricultural Festival in Stuttgart.
“There are many different ways to explore our region—by bike, on a museum visit, in the vineyards, or by sampling regional specialties,” says District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier. “At the Agricultural Festival, we bring this diversity together in one place and invite visitors to get to know the Ludwigsburg district better.”
A Varied Program for the Final Days of the Fair
A diverse program will also be offered at the district’s booth during the final days of the fair. On Wednesday, September 30,will provide information about the weinerlebnistour.de platform, its mission, and its projects. The Jennerhof from Erdmannhausen will also be represented at the booth. Visitors can sample sausages and smoked meats and purchase regional products such as sausages, smoked meats, and pasta.
On Thursday, October 1, the Mathilde-Planck-Schule in Ludwigsburg will present its educational programs and current projects. Culinary highlights will be provided by the Werner Brosi country butcher shop, a family-run business with a butcher shop and farm store in Möglingen-Stammheim. They will offer a tasting of sausage products and sell canned sausages.
Also on stage in Hall 4, the Hall of Regions, the butcher shop will give an interview at 11 a.m. about its history, the work of the family business, and animal welfare.
Steep Slopes, Wine, and Regional Specialties
On Friday, October 2, the Heldenschmiede will provide information about its mission, projects, and training program. This special offering is aimed at anyone who would like to actively contribute to the preservation of Ludwigsburg’s steep slopes—regardless of whether they already have prior knowledge of viticulture or not.
The culinary highlights continue with the Seitz fruit distillery from Ingersheim. Liqueurs and spirits will be available for tasting and purchase.
Another highlight will take place on the stage in Hall 4: At 2:00 p.m., the Württemberger Weinbergwerk eG will present a talk titled “Steep Slopes Can Be Sustainable,” covering steep-slope viticulture, the work of the Weinbergwerk, and the challenges of growing grapes on steep slopes. In addition, projects aimed at promoting and supporting steep-slope vineyards will be presented.
As the fair draws to a close, the focus turns to regional delights
On Saturday, October 3, the Steep Slope Management team of the Ludwigsburg district will provide insights into its work and current projects aimed at preserving and further developing steep slopes.
The 3B Tourism Team will present its tourism offerings on Saturday and Sunday, October 4. The tourism association brings together the eponymous towns of Besigheim, Bönnigheim, and Bietigheim-Bissingen, as well as Kirchheim am Neckar, Erligheim, Freudental, Gemmrigheim, Walheim, Löchgau, Hessigheim, Mundelsheim, and Ingersheim. Together, they market the region as an attractive destination for day trips and vacations.
In addition to the 3B Tourism event, the Bönnigheim Schnaps Museum will offer insights into the history and culture of schnapps distillation on Sunday, marking the conclusion of the Main Agricultural Festival. This will include a tasting and the opportunity to purchase schnapps and liqueurs.
The stage will also feature another informative and entertaining event: At 4:00 p.m., the Bönnigheim Schnapps Museum will present a talk titled “From Schnapps Distillation to Moonshining.” The presentation will feature anecdotes and interesting facts about schnapps—naturally accompanied by a schnapps tasting.
