Shortly before the start of the school year and completion of modernization work: Heimerdingen station resumes operations on September 14, 2025

Passengers on the Strohgäubahn operated by Württembergische Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft (WEG) will be able to board and alight at Heimerdingen station again from 14 September 2025: shortly before the start of the school year and completion of the modernization work, the station will resume operations. During the construction work, the station could not be served due to the renewal of the infrastructure.

A bright yellow train with a green design travels along a railway amidst a field of dandelions. The landscape features lush grass and a tree in the background, suggesting a rural setting under a partly cloudy sky.

Passengers on the Strohgäubahn will once again be able to use the full timetable on the entire route from Korntal to Heimerdingen from September 14, 2025.

Construction work to extend and raise the platform and make it barrier-free began on July 7, 2025. Although the measure could not be completed within the planned construction period of ten weeks due to the complexity of the civil engineering work, the construction work has now progressed so far that the station can be used from the end of the summer vacations.

From September 14, 2025, passengers on the Strohgäubahn will once again be able to use the full timetable on the entire route from Korntal to Heimerdingen. Access to the platform is initially only possible via the Feuerbacher Straße level crossing; access from Bahnhofstraße will be set up next.

The Heimerdingen station is expected to be fully completed at the beginning of October.
