Art in the Kreishaus: New exhibition "Alfons Wiest - Heads, Couples, Transparencies"

Sculptures that deal with the human head and face can be seen in pairs or groups in the new exhibition "Alfons Wiest - Köpfe, Paare, Transparenzen" in the "Kunst im Kreishaus" series. First District Officer Jürgen Vogt will open the show on June 2 in the atrium of the first extension building. It is the second exhibition in the series this year and the first in the atrium.

A sculptural artwork featuring two abstract, colorful forms resembling fish or birds, facing each other at the top. The central figure has perforations and a smooth, curved base. The overall design conveys a sense of connection and harmony, with vibrant colors of red, blue, and pastel tones.

Alfons Wiest is a freelance artist in Löchgau. In the exhibition, he is showing a selection of his more than 45 years of work, around 90 sculptures in total. He has already exhibited several times in the Kreishaus together with other artists. This time, the exhibition is dedicated exclusively to his work.

The atrium is a special architectural location that lends itself as a space for exhibitions and, with its spaciousness and brightness, invites visitors to communicate, view and reflect on what they see. QR codes attached to 19 works provide visitors with further information on the works compiled by the artist.

Art tours with the artist are offered on June 30, July 14 and August 18, each at 3 pm, without prior registration. The meeting point for all art tours is the Bürgerinfo in the foyer of the Kreishaus.

At the exhibition opening on Thursday, June 2, at 7 p.m. in the atrium of the first district hall extension, Hindenburgstraße 30, First State Official Jürgen Vogt will welcome the visitors. Art historian Nicole Raichle M.A. will then introduce the exhibition. The jazz trio Red Soxs will provide the musical accompaniment. All those interested in art are welcome to attend the vernissage.

Until further notice, the exhibition can be viewed during normal opening hours until September 22. Registration is not necessary, but wearing a mask is recommended. You can find out about the current corona rules for visiting the exhibition on the website www.landkreis-ludwigsburg.de.
