As part of the exchange with the partner school Carl-Schaefer-Schule (CSS), 16 Hungarian pupils and two teachers visited the district hall. The group was also accompanied by Andrea Theile-Stadelmann, Head of the Carl Schaefer School and Christian Müller, Head of Department at CSS.
Head of Department Andreas Eschbach warmly welcomed the guests and emphasized the importance of such exchange programs. "International encounters like these create connections that can last far beyond the school years. They not only promote mutual understanding, but also lay the foundations for long-term friendships," said Eschbach.
The Hungarians will be visiting the CSS and the district of Ludwigsburg from March 16 to 22, 2025. The program includes a visit to the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart, the "Actionbound" city rally in Ludwigsburg and making a cell phone holder in the CSS workshops.
Long-standing friendship: school partnership has existed for 36 years
The school partnership between the Carl Schaefer School and the Corvin Mátyás Gimnázium Budapest has existed since 1989. The school partnership was officially sealed in 1999. In 2014, the partnership celebrated its 25th anniversary, and in 2015, a tree planting ceremony was held at CSS to mark this anniversary. In 2019, the 30th anniversary was celebrated with an evening event at CSS. The student exchanges have been taking place at regular intervals since 1994. However, they had to be canceled from 2020 to 2022 due to coronavirus.
The CSS is a district vocational school, while the Corvin Mátyás Gimnázium Budapest is a general secondary school. Pupils in year 11 of the CSS vocational grammar school and Hungarian pupils in years 9 to 11 who have made good progress in learning German can take part in the exchange.
