The work is taking place at the K 1623 / K 1625 intersection, near the access road to the wastewater treatment plant and the Blatt company, as well as near the stormwater retention basin. Depending on weather conditions, the project is scheduled for completion by the end of the year.
Impact on Traffic
During this construction phase, through traffic on the K 1625 and the K 1623 access road to and from Gemmrigheim will continue to flow. Since the K 1625 will be reduced to a single lane in the construction zone, a traffic light will be installed to regulate traffic.
The northern access road to the wastewater treatment plant and the Blatt company will be closed during construction. As in previous construction phases, the detour through the residential area will be clearly signposted.
Significance of the Construction Project
The construction of the roundabout is a long-planned improvement to the access and exit routes to and from Gemmrigheim. In addition, the capacity of the intersection will be improved, and the design will be adapted to the high volume of traffic, including heavy-duty vehicles. Upon completion of the roundabout, the temporary traffic light system currently in place will be removed.
The District Office asks all road users and residents for their understanding regarding the disruptions and restrictions that will arise during the construction work.
