"Climate protection makes Ah!" makes an online stop in Ludwigsburg

Klimaschutz macht Ah" is presented by the German Institute of Urban Affairs (Difu). The local edition "Want to get connected? - Become part of a climate-friendly heat supply" is supported by the city and district of Ludwigsburg and the regional energy agency in Ludwigsburg.

The title says it all: "Klimaschutz mach Ah!" invites interested parties to an interactive journey on the topic of climate protection and sustainable heat supply with a focus on "heating networks".

The heating transition is increasingly establishing itself as a municipal field of action. Space heating and hot water are responsible for more than a third of total German CO2 emissions, with process heat even accounting for more than half.

What options are there for reducing the emission of climate-damaging greenhouse gases? Can a municipality or urban district become climate-neutral in one fell swoop? What can the city or municipality do, what can each individual do? Which measures are really sensible and feasible? What ideas, concepts and recipes are available to gradually make the heating supply "grandchildren-friendly"? Are there exemplary projects in the region that you can "get your hands on"?

On 16 December 2020 at 7:30 pm, the German Institute of Urban Affairs, in cooperation with the Ludwigsburg District Energy Agency (LEA), the district of Ludwigsburg and the city of Ludwigsburg, will host a 75-minute online program at prime time to warm people up for more municipal climate protection. Difu discusses with Julia Neuhäuser, climate protection manager of the district of Ludwigsburg, as well as Raphael Gruseck, heating network expert at the LEA, and Thomas Gessler from the local heating and environment department of the municipality of Ilsfeld.

Climate protection is now an important part of everyday life in many cities, municipalities and districts. The focus of "Klimaschutz macht Ah" is to experience municipal climate protection activities and opportunities for action in a practical way. With a short keynote speech, a live discussion with local experts and interactive hands-on formats, "Klimaschutz macht Ah!" ensures an entertaining increase in knowledge.

Participation in the event is free of charge. Registration is possible up to and including December 14 by sending an email to esther-fischer@lea-lb.de. Technical information on participation will be sent with the registration confirmation.
