Anyone who is actively involved in environmental and nature conservation, inspires children and young people for the local flora and fauna or has already created habitats for animals and plants should apply for the Environmental Award of the Ludwigsburg district and the Environmental and Nature Conservation Foundation of Kreissparkasse Ludwigsburg - provided there is no financial support or funding for the respective commitment or project. The prize money amounts to 10,000 euros.

"The Ludwigsburg district's environmental award is intended to recognize small steps in the interests of nature, species and climate protection. The prize gives preference to people or groups of people who do not carry out their commitment in the light of great public attention," says Dr. Carolin Meier, Head of the Environment Department of the Ludwigsburg District Office.

The environmental award is aimed at private individuals, groups, schools, kindergartens, clubs, associations and companies who are committed to the topics of nature and species conservation, climate change adaptation/resilience, awareness raising and environmental education. The prize money totaling 10,000 euros is funded in equal parts by the Ludwigsburg District Office and the Environmental and Nature Conservation Foundation of Kreissparkasse Ludwigsburg. Several projects from different categories can be awarded.

"The Environmental and Nature Conservation Foundation of Kreissparkasse Ludwigsburg has already sponsored the environmental award many times. Supporting exemplary and innovative projects as well as commitment in the areas of nature, species and climate protection is an important concern for the foundation's board," says press spokeswoman Isabel Kurz from Kreissparkasse Ludwigsburg.
