Planning for the implementation of the national vaccination strategy is in full swing. The district of Ludwigsburg will also operate two district vaccination centers (KIZ, both at the Grönerstraße site in Ludwigsburg) and four mobile vaccination teams (MIT) from 22 January 2021. Criticism is repeatedly voiced as to why vaccination has not already begun in the district. In the state planning, the district vaccination centers (KIZ) with the associated mobile vaccination teams (MIT) are not scheduled to start before January 22, 2021. The vaccine will be distributed centrally and made available to the KIZs on January 22.
Nevertheless, mobile vaccination teams will probably already be traveling to the Ludwigsburg district from next Monday to carry out the first vaccinations in retirement homes. However, these mobile vaccination teams are part of the state's central vaccination centers (ZIZ). The ZIZ responsible for the district of Ludwigsburg is established at the Robert Bosch Clinic in Stuttgart.
The knowledge gained there is then passed on to the districts for their KIZ. "For the reasons mentioned, we cannot and must not open the vaccination center before January 22, 2021," clarifies District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier.
