District homepage now with barrier-free area

The homepage of the district of www.landkreis-ludwigsburg.de now has a barrier-free section. The area can be accessed via the corresponding image (icon) at the top right of the homepage. This means that the district has already implemented part of the Accessible Information Technology Ordinance. "People with disabilities can now find their way around our website much more easily," says a delighted Caren Sprinkart, the district administrator's personal advisor.

A pathway leads through a well-maintained landscape with greenery and trees, indicating an entrance to a building related to local government information. The text mentions accessibility and provides information in plain language.

The following functions are new: Users can have each page of the website read aloud and increase the contrast on each page. In the barrier-free area, the most important content for people with disabilities is explained in plain language and a central contact is provided for each topic listed. In addition, Dr. Eckart Bohn, the district's representative for people with disabilities, is listed as a contact person, as well as the central address of the district building and its opening hours. Finally, operating instructions are also provided.

The content in plain language will be gradually illustrated and expanded as necessary.
