HIV, syphilis and hepatitis C: New rapid test offer at the health department in Ludwigsburg

The second HIV, syphilis and hepatitis C rapid test campaign this year will take place in the health department of the district administration office (Hindenburgstr. 20/1, 71638 Ludwigsburg) on Tuesday, May 7, from 4 to 7 p.m. in cooperation with Aids-Hilfe Stuttgart e.V.. The test is anonymous and registration is not necessary.

Aids-Hilfe Stuttgart e.V. provides qualified social work advice on site. Dr. Uschi Traub, a doctor at the health department of the district administration, will take the blood sample and make the diagnosis. People under the age of 14 can only be tested if accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Testing free of charge - organizers welcome donations

For the test, a few drops of blood are taken from the fingertip, mixed with reaction solutions and placed on a test kit. The test result is available after a few minutes. There should be at least twelve weeks between a possible risk contact (e.g. unprotected sex) and the rapid test in order to obtain a meaningful result.

Testing for HIV and syphilis is free of charge, while the organizers are happy to receive a small donation for the hepatitis C rapid test. The event also provides information on sexually transmitted infections.

A total of 48 people took up the offer of the first rapid test campaign

48 people took part in the last rapid test campaign, one person tested positive for HIV and two people tested positive for syphilis. More than half of the people were between 21 and 30 years old.
