Once again, the month of Ramadan falls during the pandemic. The corona pandemic is forcing us all to impose restrictions and requires a great deal of perseverance. There have also been drastic restrictions on the important Christian festivals so far and the holidays could not be celebrated as usual.
I can well understand how difficult these restrictions and the renunciation of the familiar are, especially during the fasting period. Ramadan is a time of community, care and reflection, whether individually or together with family, friends or the community.
Unfortunately, the coronavirus pandemic has not yet been overcome. It is you, together with the citizens of the district, who are making an important contribution to overcoming the corona pandemic.
We now all have to persevere for a while until the measures take effect and the pandemic is contained. I am confident that we will manage this together and that better times will come when familiar rituals will once again become a matter of course.
I wish you and your families and communities a blessed, peaceful and healthy Lent!
