Founding meeting of the housing cooperative

The citizens' cooperative for affordable housing in the Ludwigsburg district is starting its work. The first stage was a founding meeting on Friday (April 22), following the district council resolution on the citizens' cooperative on April 8. April.

A group of people, including men and women, stands on a staircase outside a building. Two individuals in the front hold a document, while others smile and pose behind them. The setting appears formal, suggesting a significant event or gathering.

The core idea is simple: affordable housing can only be created when the free market and maximum returns are no longer the sole focus of housing construction
. District Administrator
Allgaier set himself the goal of creating affordable housing
in the district as soon as he took office. The path that the Ludwigsburg district administration wants to take together with
its municipal and private partners leads via the innovative citizens' cooperative
Wohnen. Wohnungsbau Ludwigsburg GmbH with Managing Director Andreas
Veit has been actively involved from the outset and remains an important
partner of the district in the implementation phase: the cooperative's business management is handled by Wohnungsbau
Ludwigsburg.

The cooperative began its work on Friday with a constituent meeting.
The articles of association were signed, the first offices assigned and the board elected.
Once the cooperative is officially entered in the register, it can get started. "I
am delighted that we are taking this path via a cooperative together with the towns
and municipalities and that they have contributed their municipal expertise to the
project group from the outset," says District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier. As founding members,
six municipalities from the district have already passed initial resolutions in their local councils:
Affalterbach, Freudental, Hemmingen, Remseck, Sachsenheim and Schwieberdingen. Other
towns and municipalities are currently still discussing joining internally.

The citizens' cooperative housing association is to build and maintain exclusively affordable apartments as rental apartments
. An important part of the structure is that the municipalities
contribute land for development.
