The district of Ludwigsburg is the first district in Baden-Württemberg to draw up a climate mobility plan. The kick-off for public participation with the digital public launch event was a great success, says project manager Lukas Göppner. Over 100 interested citizens gathered information and contributed their suggestions. A large number of questions were answered during the event.
Dietmar Allgaier, District Administrator of the Ludwigsburg district, expressed his thanks for the technical support and generous funding from the state as one of six model municipalities and said in a video message: "With the creation of the climate mobility plan, we are aiming to reduceCO2 emissions in the transport sector by 55 percent by 2030 instead of the previously targeted 40 percent compared to 2010. Expressed in concrete figures, this means that we must reduce our emissions in the transport sector by around half a million tons ofCO2 per year!"
In order to achieve this ambitious and forward-looking goal, we are reliant on the support of the district municipalities as well as ideas from residents. "The climate mobility plan will hopefully help us to solve the problems of the individual municipalities together. Our aim is to show the diversity of transport routes. I can assure you that people will continue to be the focus of mobility in the future," emphasized the District Administrator.
In May 2023, the findings will be presented and discussed at local participation events. Citizens will then be able to participate again in the development of the goals and measures of the climate mobility plan.
In summer 2024, the climate mobility plan will be presented to the district committees for approval. Once the climate mobility plan has been successfully drawn up, the towns and municipalities in the district can claim a so-called "climate bonus" in the form of an increased funding quota when financing projects in the transport sector.
