On July 21, CITY CYCLING in the Ludwigsburg district came to a successful end. Over 10,000 cyclists took part in this year's three-week cycling competition and together cycled over two million kilometers - a new record! This year, all cyclists were invited to take part in a photo campaign: Anyone who took a photo of themselves or their bike in front of at least six CITY CYCLING banners in the district had the chance to win one of five 50-euro vouchers.
Whether on bridges or trees, on posts and pillars, on town halls and museums - 29 of 34 CITY CYCLING municipalities took part and hung up the banners in their municipality or town so that they were clearly visible. District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier: "Many municipalities have taken the opportunity to encourage cyclists to visit them with this campaign. I am pleased that the photo campaign also had added value for tourists in this way."
Many CITY CYCLING participants even submitted more than the required six photos. Even though this shows great fun and commitment, it didn't change the chance of winning: the draw determined the five lucky winners completely impartially.
The lot was drawn:
- Jörn Spikker from Schwieberdingen. He cycled a total of 21 CITY CYCLING banners with his young son.
- Jan Laskowski from Ludwigsburg. He was out and about in the district with his wife.
- Michael Honer from Gerlingen. He visited 14 towns and municipalities as part of the campaign.
- Tobias Bugala from Tamm. He was on the road with his two sons on a cargo bike.
- Bernd Mack from Sachsenheim. He actually managed to photograph all the CITY CYCLING banners.
The winners have already been notified and will receive a 50-euro voucher for a bike shop of their choice. The district administration would like to thank everyone who took part in the campaign!
The next CITY CYCLING event will take place from July 1 to 21, 2023.
Info: CITY CYCLING is an international campaign of the Climate Alliance. Private individuals as well as representatives of companies, clubs, associations, institutions, cultural facilities, offices and (high) schools join together in teams to collect as many kilometers as possible on bicycles and pedelecs for three weeks. In Baden-Württemberg, the state initiative RadKULTUR supports the competition. More information and all results at www.stadtradeln.de
