Woodland maintenance work on the K1606 between Marbach am Neckar and Kirchberg an der Murr

On Saturday, December 7, the district road 1606 between Marbach am Neckar and Kirchberg an der Murr will be fully closed to traffic in the section between the Schweißbrücke bridge and the district border with Rems-Murr-Kreis. A local detour will be signposted via the K1605, K1603, K1604 and K1835.

A roadblock is featured with a red and white barrier, and a circular road sign indicating 'no entry.' There is a yellow sign pointing to the right labeled "Umleitung," which means "detour" in German. Several warning lights are positioned at the top of the barrier.

On Saturday, woodland maintenance work will be carried out in the slope area of the "Steinberg" district, which runs parallel to the district road, to ensure traffic safety. The trees in this area are very weak, as the ash trees that are predominantly present there are affected by a fungal disease and no longer have a secure footing.

A specialist company will carry out the tree maintenance work for the district office. During the full closure, the Rems-Murr district will also carry out maintenance work along the route. The district office asks the affected road users for their understanding for the obstructions.
