Dedicated volunteers wanted for new project cycle

The successful "Expressive Sandwork" project run by the district administration's Asylum Social Service is entering its fourth round with an information event on January 22, 2026 at 4 pm. Volunteers are still being sought to support children with mental health issues who have fled their homes.

Expressive sandwork offers traumatized refugee children a safe space to process their experiences non-verbally, activate their self-healing powers and strengthen their resilience. They use the sandbox, materials and figures to depict their inner experiences. Around ten children between the ages of six and 13 take part in eleven to twelve weekly sessions per session.

Information event on January 22, 2026 for volunteer chaperones

Volunteer chaperones support one child at a time across all eleven sessions. They are trained in advance, supervised during the project and receive a certificate on completion.

The information event for all interested volunteers will take place on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 4 pm. Venue: Auf dem Wasen 9, 71640 Ludwigsburg, room 212.
