Staying parents despite separation: district and Caritas launch joint online training course

When a couple becomes "ex-partners", the joint responsibility for the children remains. But how can this transition be managed without lasting conflict? To support parents in this difficult phase, the psychological counseling centers of the district and Caritas Ludwigsburg-Waiblingen-Enz are pooling their expertise: The new online course "Mastering separation - strengthening children" starts on April 16, 2026.

A child walks on grass, holding hands with two adults. The child wears a light sweater and green pants, while the adults are dressed in casual attire. They appear to be enjoying a stroll together in a park setting.

The free group training helps fathers and mothers to refocus on the essentials: the well-being of their children. Theoretical input,
group and self-awareness exercises alternate. The experts teach how to communicate objectively and how parents can function as a stable "working team" even after the relationship has ended. The aim is to discover new possibilities for action in everyday parenting through exchange and methodical work.

Flexible and discreet from home

The training takes place online on Thursdays from 9.00 am to 12.00 pm. In order to provide a protected space for exchange, only one parent takes part in each course - this guarantees an open and confidential atmosphere. A second course will be offered in fall 2026 for interested parties who are unable to attend in the spring or are unable to attend.

The six modules of the Parent Training 2026 (spring course):

April 16 - Separation and opportunity

April 23 - Conflicts and solutions

April 30 - My child and the separation

May 07 - Staying parents - Part 1

May 21 - Staying parents - Part 2

June 11 - Future model "work team"

Registration and contact

Interested parties can register for the course starting in April until April 1, 2026 with one of the two cooperation partners. Participation is free of charge. All you need is an internet-enabled device (laptop or tablet).
