"This shared apartment is a unique home for young people who need a lot of support in their everyday lives. The aim of this residential community is to give the residents the opportunity to lead as self-determined a life as possible," said District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier in his speech. This goal has been achieved thanks to the great commitment of everyone involved. The District Administrator praised the commitment and exemplary cooperation of Gemeinsam e.V., Insel e.V. and all those involved in the project. "In the end, the fact that we are here today has only worked thanks to good cooperation," continued the District Administrator.
District Administrator Allgaier presented the residents and carers with a handcart as a gift. This should serve the new residents well on their future excursions.
"Special shared flat" offers eight residents a new home
The shared flat in Bönnigheim began partial occupancy on February 5, 2024 and has been complete with all eight residents since March 4, 2024. The employees of Gemeinsam e.V. and Insel e.V. had worked tirelessly to recruit qualified staff to ensure that the residential community could operate from Monday to Friday.
Thanks to the dedication of the staff, the furnishings of the shared apartment were perfectly tailored to the needs of the residents. The rooms were prepared in good time so that the move-in went smoothly. The nursing service is active and ensures that all residents receive first-class care. Petra Nicklas, first chairwoman of Gemeinsam e.V., also thanked all supporters and pointed out the importance of such shared flats. "The special shared flat in Bönnigheim is an important step towards inclusion and self-determination for people with disabilities. With this project, Insel e.V. and Gemeinsam e.V. have worked to ensure that the residents can live their lives as independently as possible and receive the necessary support," said the Chairwoman.
