In the early stages, the changes caused by dementia are not yet very pronounced, but can disrupt everyday life to such an extent that great uncertainty arises. In a joint conversation, fears and anxieties can be expressed and topics and things that are important to those affected can be addressed. Contact at eye level creates security and an atmosphere that encourages and strengthens, so that everyday life can continue in its familiar structures for as long as possible.
Working in the support group is an exciting and varied voluntary role that is professionally supervised by staff from the district office. The support group also meets regularly to keep in touch with each other. It is also important for the group to use information stands to draw attention to the special situation of people in the early stages of dementia and to promote understanding and support.
The training takes place in the conference area of the Ludwigsburg District Office. The seminar is free of charge and concludes with a certificate. No previous experience is necessary. Depending on the pandemic situation, we will switch to a digital alternative.
