If you want to use the Easter holidays to explore the district's most beautiful landscapes on foot at your own pace, there are many varied hikes right on the doorstep.

The rock garden tour leads from Hessigheim through the vineyards along the banks of the Neckar up to the rock gardens and the medieval Besigheim town church (Ludwigsburg district office).

This medium-difficulty hiking route is around 18 kilometers long and leads - starting near Hessigheim - through the vineyards along the banks of the Neckar on narrow paths up to the rock gardens and the medieval Besigheim town church. Gourmets will find the Felsengartenkellerei Besigheim on this route. Important to note: Due to tread damage, the hiking area is currently only accessible from south to north, i.e. from the direction of Hessigheim.

Rafting trail - On the trail of the timber trade on the River Enz

If you want to combine hiking with fascinating historical insights, the Besigheim - Bietigheim-Bissingen rafting trail is just the thing for you. The tour starts at Besigheim train station and leads for around eight kilometers to the junction of Wobachstraße in the Bietigheim Enz valley. If you wish, you can continue the hike along the historic rafting canal for around seven kilometers through the Bissinger Enztal valley - past the sawmill and the Schellenhof excursion inn. Experience historical treasures on the "Wander Dreiklang" (Grand Tour)

The route covers around 12 kilometers along the vineyard paths from Hohenhaslach in the direction of Spielberg back to Freudental. The first highlight is the region's landmark: the historic Mäuseturm tower, which today not only provides a reference point to the past, but also offers an impressive view of the surrounding area. Passing the former synagogue and the Jewish cemetery, you reach the "Pfeifferhütte" rest area. The crowning glory is the hilltop sofa, from which you can enjoy a sweeping view over Hohenhaslach.

Wine reading trail on the Württemberg wine hiking trail

The Wine Reading Trail on the Württemberger Weinwanderweg extends over a total of 35 kilometers and passes 15 literary stations. The route runs through the town of Schiller and the Bottwartal valley. The hike reveals which famous poets and thinkers felt at home in this region.
