AVL informs: Hazardous waste mobile on the road all year round

Not everything that is no longer needed should be thrown into the garbage cans on your doorstep. Chemicals and pollutants in particular are toxic and can harm the environment if they are not disposed of correctly. They must therefore never be disposed of in household waste. The right place to dispose of them is at the mobile hazardous waste collection point. Several mobile pollutant collection points are on the road in the Ludwigsburg district throughout the year. The dates for 2026 can already be found in the waste calendar, which will be sent out to private households from November 3.

What can be handed in at the mobile hazardous waste collection point?

Batteries and rechargeable batteries in normal household quantities, emulsion paints, paint and varnish residues, adhesive residues, pesticides and plant protection products, detergents and cleaning agents, spray cans with residual contents, solvents, empty oil cans, acids, antifreeze and coolants, alkaline solutions, oil filters or oil-smeared rags, vehicle batteries (no deposit refund), energy-saving lamps and fluorescent tubes as well as full and empty containers with a hazardous substance symbol can be handed in.

The hazardous substances must be packed in leak-proof packaging and must not be mixed. AVL asks that lithium (Li) batteries be packed separately from batteries and rechargeable batteries without lithium in small bags for transportation.

Lithium batteries heavier than 500 grams and batteries containing lead (Pb) (officially "industrial batteries") are accepted at recycling centers. The hazardous waste mobile does not accept these batteries (mostly e-bike batteries).
Empty packaging of hazardous substances without a hazardous substance symbol may be disposed of in the yellow garbage can.

What are normal household quantities?

Normal household quantities means small quantities that accumulate in the household. This corresponds to a maximum of two laundry baskets.

Who can deliver to the mobile hazardous waste collection point?

Professional disposal is free of charge for private individuals in normal household quantities. Commercial enterprises can dispose of hazardous waste via private service providers. It is not possible to dispose of waste via the mobile hazardous waste collection point.

When does the mobile hazardous waste collection unit come?

The dates of the mobile hazardous waste collection unit are listed in the waste calendar. They can also be found from mid-December on the website of Abfallverwertungsgesellschaft des Landkreises Ludwigsburg (AVL GmbH) at: www.avl-lb.de (Privathaushalte / Termine / Schadstoffmobil) and in the AVL Service+ app.

Please note the AVL: There may be small deviations in the times due to traffic or the volume of deliveries at the previous location.
