Dispose of organic waste correctly in summer
Especially in the warmer months, it is important to dispose of organic waste correctly and as dry as possible. Kitchen paper, newspaper scraps or egg cartons can help to bind excess moisture in the garbage can. The garbage can should be kept as shady as possible and cleaned regularly. Another tip: line the gaps with cardboard to prevent the waste from sticking.
Important: Even though many so-called compostable bags are available, they do not belong in the organic waste garbage can. These bags, even if they appear to be biodegradable, are often made of materials that do not fully decompose in the composting process and cause problems in the facilities. Instead, please use paper bags or wrap moist organic waste in newspaper.
Digital help: app & waste calendar
AVL recommends the free AVL Service+ app to ensure that no collection date is forgotten. It reliably reminds you of all emptying dates - individually tailored to your place of residence. The app is available in the App Store and on Google Play. Alternatively, citizens can also find a digital waste calendar at www.avl-ludwigsburg.de, which clearly displays all dates.
Further tips on how to dispose of organic waste correctly and the latest information on waste management in the Ludwigsburg district can be found on the AVL website and on AVL's social media channels.
