Delegation from partner district of Upper Galilee visits - District Administrator: Can learn a lot from each other

A large delegation from the Upper Galilee, the Israeli partner district of the Ludwigsburg district, is staying here for a week. District Administrator Dr. Rainer Haas welcomed the guests on Friday (20 September) in the main conference room of the district building and introduced them to the district council, the district administration and the district. "We are very pleased about your visit - through our intensive exchange we can learn a lot from each other and understand each other even better."

A diverse group of around 40 people gather together in a hall, smiling and posing for a photo. They appear to be part of a community event or celebration, with some individuals in formal attire and others in casual clothing.

On the right at the lectern, District Administrator Dr. Rainer Haas with his counterpart Chairman Giora Salz, the other members of the Israeli delegation and pupils from Friedrich-Schiller-Gymnasium Marbach.

Beforehand, the guests from Israel as well as teachers and pupils from Friedrich-Schiller-Gymnasium Marbach visited a refugee shelter and discussed the refugee issue.Other items on the agenda for the week-long visit include the Natzweiler concentration camp memorial, the Celtic Museum in Eberdingen-Hochdorf, Besigheim and Bönnigheim, the Robert Franck School in Ludwigsburg, Ludwigsburg Castle, the Weißenhofsiedlung Stuttgart, the Ludwigsburg Central Office, the Ludwigsburg Integrated Control Center and the synagogue in Munich.

The friendship between the region in the north of Israel and the district has existed since 1983 and is the district's oldest partnership. It was officially sealed in 1997 with the exchange of partnership documents. Today, regular student exchanges take place between schools in the district and their partner schools in the Upper Galilee. There are also close exchanges in teacher training and between the Kliniken Ludwigsburg-Bietigheim gGmbH and the ZIV Medical Center in the Upper Galilee.
