John Cranko was one of the world's most important choreographers. From 1960, the Briton created the "Stuttgart Ballet Miracle" as director. In a short time, he turned the provincial troupe "Stuttgarter Ballett" into a company that made guest appearances at the Metropolitan Opera in New York. The feature film "Cranko" by Joachim A. Lang focuses on the later phase of the artist's life and work until his unexpected early death at the age of just 45 on a flight back from the USA.
Foot health: experts provide information
After the film (from around 4.45 pm), interested visitors can get advice from Alwina Link and orthopaedic technician Mikel He (both Orthopädie-Technik Kächele GmbH). The experts will be offering free foot pressure measurements on site. Cinema-goers can test their knowledge in a quiz and have the chance to win a prize.
Why all this? It's simple: around 80 percent of ballet dancersstruggle with foot problems - but our feet are also real performers in everyday life. They carry us through life and have a huge impact on our health. Knee, hip or back pain? The cause is often literally "further down". Our feet consist of 26 bones, 33 joints and more than 100 ligaments, muscles and tendons - a real feat of nature. But it is precisely this complexity that makes them susceptible to problems.
The price of 8 euros includes the film, coffee or tea and a pastry. The event is a cooperation between the Stadtseniorenrat Ludwigsburg e.V., the Central Filmtheater Ludwigsburg and the Landratsamt-Gesundheitsdezernat.
