Cem Özdemir - Federal Minister with a connection to the Ludwigsburg district

Cem Özdemir was sworn in as Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture on Wednesday (December 8) as part of the formation of the new government. This makes him the only federal minister in the new government to come from Baden-Württemberg. Cem Özdemir also has a connection to the district of Ludwigsburg. He receives a letter of congratulations from District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier on his swearing-in.

In this letter, District Administrator Allgaier addresses the former connection to the Ludwigsburg constituency. In 1994 and 1998, Cem Özdemir stood as a candidate for the German Bundestag in the Ludwigsburg constituency. "You represented the district of Ludwigsburg in Bonn and Berlin for many years. I hope that our district was a place of political activity that you will remember fondly," the letter reads. At the same time, District Administrator Allgaier extended an invitation to the district. Cem Özdemir had his political home in the Ludwigsburg Green Party district association.
