Mayor Steffen Bühler celebrates 40 years of service

Steffen Bühler, Mayor of Besigheim, can look back on four decades of public service these days. "40 years in public service is a special anniversary - during this time you have achieved a great deal for the town of Besigheim and the district in various roles and have never shied away from taking on responsibility. As mayor of Besigheim, you have found your calling with energy and humor. But you also set standards as a district councillor and chairman of the local mayors' association."

Two men stand side by side, one holding a certificate that reads "DANKURUNDE." They share smiles in a well-lit office setting, with greenery visible in the background. The scene conveys a sense of accomplishment and recognition.

The head of the district administration recalled Bühler's professional beginnings as a trainee town inspector at Güglingen town council and his other positions at the town of Heilbronn, the Rems-Murr district administration office and his work as head of the main office of the municipality of Mundelsheim and later at the town of Steinheim.

Bühler was then elected Mayor of Besigheim in the first round of voting in 1992. This was followed by three re-elections. "Your impressive official career has shown that you have won over the citizens and earned their trust through the quality of your work," said the District Administrator. "The fact that you have also always brought the city's partnerships to life and driven them forward also distinguishes you as an avowed and committed European."

During his time as mayor, Bühler had significantly advanced the town of Besigheim, particularly in the areas of urban development and tourism. "During her time in office, Besigheim was voted the most beautiful wine town in Germany and the wine festival was voted the most beautiful wine festival - no wonder the number of visitors to her town is constantly increasing," said the district administrator.

In addition to Bühler's work in the district council, of which he has been a member since 1994, he has been district chairman of the mayors in the district of the Gemeindetag since 2005 and is also a member of the board of the Gemeindetag. "Your commitment shows that you look far beyond the municipal horizon and have the interests of all towns and municipalities in the state in mind. It's no wonder that your advice is always in demand from colleagues and also from us at the district administration office and that your word carries weight," continued the district administrator.

District Administrator Haas thanked 59-year-old Steffen Bühler for the good cooperation with the district administration and wished him "good health, enough free time for cycling and continued success, energy and determination for your work in public service".
