Visit from Jiangsu to the health department of the district administration office

Health department head Dr. Thomas Schönauer recently welcomed members of the public health service from Jiangsu, China. The two health hospitants are part of a nine-strong delegation that has been visiting healthcare facilities in Baden-Württemberg since mid-September. The visitors were given an insight into health promotion in the health department of the district administration office.

Chinese doctors are interested in vaccination and health promotion for children and adolescents.

There has been a partnership between the province of Jiangsu and the state of Baden-Württemberg since 1994. Since 2010, doctors and representatives of the public health service from Jiangsu have been coming to Baden-Württemberg for one to two months every year in the fourth quarter to exchange experiences with German colleagues about the healthcare system and curative medicine.

Liangjian Ling and Wang Yan from the disease control centers in the megacities of Changzhou and Nanjing are primarily interested in the topics of vaccination and health promotion for children and adolescents. In China, all childhood vaccinations are compulsory.

Dr. Uschi Traub, Head of Health Promotion, and her team presented successful campaigns, projects, interactive stations and didactic material.
