On Wednesday (February 19, 2025), District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier presented District Fire Chief Andy Dorroch and his former long-time employee Kurt Zoller with the "Saarland 2024 Flood Relief" badge of honor.

Three men stand outside next to a red and yellow emergency vehicle. Two of the men, dressed in uniforms, are holding official documents, while the third man, in a suit, stands between them, smiling. The setting seems to be a formal recognition or award ceremony.

The head of the district administration said at the event: "I am very pleased to be able to present you with this award today on behalf of Saarland's Minister President Anke Rehlinger, which you have earned through your dedicated and self-sacrificing work during the flood disaster in Saarland in May 2024. They have made a decisive contribution to overcoming the emergency situation and the impending dangers."

With this award, Saarland is recognizing their efforts during the flood disaster last year. District Administrator Allgaier also expressed his thanks and great appreciation to Dorroch and Zoller.
