Inauguration of new Ingersheim mayor Simone Haist on Tuesday evening - District Administrator Allgaier: "There is no question in my mind that you have the necessary tools for your new role"

The new mayor of Ingersheim, Simone Haist, was officially sworn into office on Tuesday evening (May 5) as part of a municipal council meeting in the SKV hall. As the event had to take place without citizens due to the corona crisis, it was broadcast live on the internet. "The corona crisis and the somewhat different inauguration should not detract from your clear election success: the citizens of Ingersheim placed their trust in you and elected you by a clear margin - 63.4 percent of the vote - in the first round of voting," said District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier in his speech.

The head of the district administration continued: "There is no question in my mind that you have the necessary tools for your new role. An important area of your previous professional activity was committee work, for example in the district council office in Ludwigsburg and as head of the local council office in Kornwestheim. These many years of experience in working with municipal committees will certainly be helpful in your new role as Chairwoman of the Municipal Council. With your commitment to open and transparent communication with the members of the municipal council, you can only succeed."

District Administrator Allgaier went on to say that the election campaign had shown that Haist likes to make direct contact with people and listen to citizens. "Your precise and factual answers and your open and honest manner have contributed to your election success. For you, the service concept of local government is paramount and you want to continue to be approachable for residents," Allgaier stated.

The district administrator also ventured an outlook: "The Corona crisis will affect the municipality's scope for action in 2020 and beyond and will certainly have an impact on the budget. Major projects such as the development of the town center, the further development of the commercial area, the creation of affordable housing, the expansion of public transport and the preservation of the natural landscape and viticulture await you."

Allgaier concluded by wishing Haist "every success, perseverance, determination and the will to shape your new task".
