From June 19: Renovation of the K 1659 (Solitudestraße) and barrier-free conversion of three bus stops in Gerlingen

From Monday, June 19, the K 1659 (Solitudestraße) between the traffic circle at Schillerhöhe and the border of the Ludwigsburg district near the Schmieder clinics will be renovated. As part of the construction work, three out-of-town bus stops along the K 1659 district road in the Gerlingen district will initially be converted to make them barrier-free as preliminary work. The road builders from the district administration are improving the pedestrian guidance and sidewalks in the area of the bus stops, paving the waiting areas and installing a crossing aid.

During the subsequent renovation of the roadway, the asphalt base and surface courses will also be renewed. The drainage situation will be improved and defective kerbs will be replaced.

In order to keep restrictions for passengers to a minimum, the district administration office has planned temporary stops during the construction work. Information on the exact locations of the temporary stops will be provided by the bus operator.

During the conversion of the bus stops, Solitudestraße will be closed on one side in the relevant areas so that the road is passable during the construction period. From July 17, the roadway of Solitudestraße will also be renovated in two sections. Each section will be completely closed for one week during the construction period.

The construction work will be completed by the end of July.

A local detour will be signposted.

The district has allocated around 450,000 euros for the construction work.

The district authority asks all road users and residents for their understanding for the obstructions and restrictions.
