From June 15 until the start of the summer vacations: K 1623 fully closed between Besigheim and Gemmrigheim for the expansion of the roadside service road

In order to create a better cycle path connection between Besigheim and Gemmrigheim in the future, the roadside cycle and farm track is being extended. From June 15, the K 1623 between Besigheim and Gemmrigheim will be fully closed to motor vehicle traffic. The closure is expected to last until the start of the summer vacation. A detour will be signposted.

A roadblock is featured with a red and white barrier, and a circular road sign indicating 'no entry.' There is a yellow sign pointing to the right labeled "Umleitung," which means "detour" in German. Several warning lights are positioned at the top of the barrier.

The path is already used by cyclists - however, due to the shared use with the farmers of the adjacent vineyards, conflict situations arise time and again. By widening the path to at least 4.00 meters, the situation is now to be remedied. The existing parking bays for the service vehicles will also be retained, creating a multifunctional area up to 6.50 meters wide in places. This will allow cyclists to ride safely past parked vehicles without having to swerve onto the road.

For the widening, the road must be moved one meter in the direction of the Neckar. This means that the road must be completely closed to motor vehicles. However, the road will remain passable for cyclists, especially school cycle traffic to Besigheim, throughout the entire construction period.

A detour has been signposted. From Besigheim, this leads via the B 27 and the K 1625 to Gemmrigheim. Alternatively, Gemmrigheim can be reached during the construction period via the L 1115, the K 1625 and the Forststraße.

The district has allocated around 700,000 euros from the district road construction program for the project. Almost half of this is being financed by GVFG funding from the state of Baden-Württemberg. The construction work will be completed at the beginning of the summer vacation.

The district authority asks all road users for their understanding for any traffic obstructions, especially in the detour area.
