65th reading competition: the regional competition in the district hall will once again be a contest of reading

Who is the best reader in the Ludwigsburg district? At the regional round of the 65th German Book Trade Reading Competition, the winners of the school competitions will once again compete in the Ludwigsburg district hall. With around 600,000 participants every year, the reading competition, which was launched in 1959, is one of the oldest and largest school reading competitions in Germany. The regional competition will take place from February 19 to 21 from 1.30 p.m. in the conference area of the district hall.

The 47 school winners were invited by District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier to take part in the competition. Around 6,900 pupils from year 6 across Germany take part in the regional competitions in the cities and districts. The more than 650 regional competitions are organized by bookshops, libraries, schools and other cultural institutions. All participating children receive a certificate as well as the book "The Secret of Darkmoor Hall" by Nina Scheweling (Rowohlt) and other prizes.

On February 19, it will be the turn of the Ludwigsburg West area, on February 20 the Ludwigsburg South area and on February 21 the Ludwigsburg North area.

The winner of the Ludwigsburg district will go on to the next round. The stages lead from the school decisions via city/district, district and state level to the national final with the 16 state winners on June 19, 2024 in Berlin at Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (rbb).
