Events on the climate mobility plan

Online survey

In the summer of 2024, public participation in the creation of the climate mobility plan entered the next round with an online survey from July 4 to 31. Anyone who lives in or commutes to the district of Ludwigsburg was able to tell us how the bundle of measures developed in the climate mobility plan should be tackled and implemented by 2030. The results will serve as a guide for the project municipalities when planning the implementation of their measures.

1,368 surveys on the Climate Mobility Plan were submitted during the participation period (of which 1,068 were completed in full).

You can view a summary of the results here.

Community forums

In May 2023, the residents of the district were asked to give their opinions at the public community forums on the climate mobility plan. The forums took place in Möglingen, Remseck am Neckar, Sachsenheim and Murr.

Nobody knows more about local mobility needs than the residents of the district: they are the experts on their everyday lives and, thanks to their daily experience, know what works well in terms of sustainable mobility in the district and where there is potential for improvement.

The current status of work on the climate mobility plan was presented at four community forums on the climate mobility plan in May 2023. Participants also had the opportunity to contribute their own perspectives to the development of the plan in small groups. Following a technical review, these suggestions and proposals were submitted to the municipalities involved in the project for inclusion in the further development of the plan.

Digital kick-off event

The digital kick-off event heralded the participation of residents of the Ludwigsburg district in the development of the climate mobility plan with complete success. More than 100 people took part in the online event on December 12, 2022, to which the district administration and the participating planning offices PTV Consult and ifok had invited.

After welcoming speeches from State Transport Minister Winfried Hermann and District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier, the development process of the climate mobility plan and the opportunities to get involved were presented. Throughout the event, the audience was able to post questions in the chat, which were answered immediately in two blocks.

Transport Minister Hermann emphasized that it was high time to transform the transport sector in a climate-friendly way. Climate mobility plans are the central instrument for this and, above all, the participation of citizens is extremely important. After all, climate protection "really is a task for everyone" and we need to move forward boldly and quickly. "Everyone must participate and everyone must be involved, especially in the transport sector."

District Administrator Allgaier also emphasized that the climate crisis requires us to take decisive action in all areas of society. Without the support of the public, it would not be possible to achieve the ambitious climate protection target in the transport sector: "Your suggestions and your concrete actions are very important to us. I therefore appeal to you all to take part in this unique process so that we can make our future climate-neutral and thus preserve an environment worth living in."

You can view the greetings below.

The large number of expert questions and suggestions for possible climate protection measures from the audience illustrated the importance of more climate-friendly mobility for many residents of the Ludwigsburg district.

The measures of the climate mobility plan have not yet been determined and are still being developed, explained Christoph Schulze from PTV Consult. However, many different measures will be necessary to achieve the ambitious climate protection target and the suggestions of the population will be taken into account in the development of the climate mobility plan.

"They are the people who are experts in their everyday lives. We want to use this experience as a basis for the climate mobility plan," emphasized Dr. Fabian Schroth from ifok. "Get involved by participating and telling others about the participation processes. The more perspectives that are brought in, the more robust the climate mobility plan will be."
