Now open again: Alt-Württemberg-Allee parking garage at the district administration office - Now with free electric charging - Access to the vehicle registration office via Alt-Württemberg-Allee possible again

After around two years of construction, the extensive renovation work and the addition of a roof to the Alt-Württemberg-Allee parking garage were completed. The work was more extensive than expected due to the damaged concrete structure. The parking garage is now available to the public again with immediate effect. Access to the vehicle registration office is also possible again via Alt-Württemberg-Allee.

A group of four people stands beside a white electric car parked in a garage. One person is connecting a charger to the car. The setting suggests a focus on electric vehicle charging and sustainability. The group appears engaged in a discussion or demonstration.

Four individuals stand together, preparing to cut a ribbon across a newly completed facility entrance. They are dressed in casual and business attire, indicating a formal event. The background features road markings and a modern building. Trees line the area, suggesting an outdoor setting.

At the moment, you can still see a metal "trellis" along Friedrichstrasse. This will disappear behind a beautiful green façade once the plants have been planted. Due to the high workload of the specialist companies, the photovoltaic system on the new roof cannot be completed until later in the year. The same applies to the roofing of the demonstration track.

Both the two upper parking decks of the Alt-Württemberg-Allee parking garage and the Eugenstraße underground visitor parking garage will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week in future. A total of 158 parking spaces will then be available to the public - even outside of the district administration office's opening hours.

A special feature is the "parking and loading" concept: In future, all parking spaces will each have 3.7-kilowatt wall boxes where you can charge electricity free of charge, so that only the usual parking fee has to be paid. "This attractive offer is aimed at both the residents of Oststadt and, in particular, the employees of the district administration office," explains District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier. Due to supply bottlenecks, not all parking spaces have yet been equipped with wallboxes: 23 parking spaces in the Alt-Württemberg-Allee parking garage are still being retrofitted.

From the city of Ludwigsburg's point of view, the parking garages are interesting due to their proximity to the Blühenden Barock. Data networking with the city's parking guidance system is planned once a test phase has been completed. Most of the electricity comes from the photovoltaic systems on the roofs of the administration buildings. In future, the surplus electricity is to be stored in a large battery storage system and then made available again at night. To this end, the district administration office is taking part in a federal innovation project on modular energy storage from second-life batteries, which is due to start shortly.
