In 2021, three KLIMAfit pilot projects took place in the state in cooperation with the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of the Environment, Climate Protection and the Energy Sector. In the district of Ludwigsburg, seven participating companies were subsequently recognized as KLIMAfit companies.
Over a period of nine months, the companies were supported in four joint workshops and three individual meetings by the consulting firm Arqum GmbH from Stuttgart. Each company drew up an individual greenhouse gas balance sheet and a program of measures to reduce emissions. In addition to reducing negative climate impacts and operating costs, the program also lays the necessary foundations for company-wide climate management in the companies. The planned measures, some of which have already been implemented, range from installing a photovoltaic system, switching to green electricity and energy-efficient renovations to digital invoices and the provision of company bicycles and e-charging stations.
A group of 14 Baden-Württemberg companies from the three pilot projects have now joined forces to continue promoting the topic of climate protection in collaboration with other KLIMAfit companies. The companies range in size from eight to several thousand employees.
The focus of the first network meeting was on networking and exchanging information on thecarbon footprint drawn up, as well as on specific energy-saving measures. Technical input on energy saving regulations and sustainability reporting requirements rounded off the event.
The district of Ludwigsburg, as the project sponsor, is now launching a new round of KLIMAfit projects following the publication of the state's KLIMAfit funding guidelines. An online information event for interested companies will take place on Wednesday, December 7 at 10 am.
