The district of Ludwigsburg is one of the last districts in Baden-Württemberg that still writes to its citizens every time a new infection is reported and informs them of the quarantine period. This has no legal significance, as quarantine begins regardless of the letter from the public health department in accordance with the isolation ordinance upon notification of the positive result, which is usually communicated immediately to the person tested by the testing facility.
Due to the current high number of cases, there are delays both in notifying the public health department and in processing the notification. The postal service causes a further delay. As a result, letters from the public health department sometimes only arrive after the end of the quarantine period.
With the current very high number of cases, there have been an increasing number of processing errors in recent weeks for various reasons. Among other things, it has repeatedly happened that citizens have been contacted several times and it has not always been clear to them which letter applies. This understandably led to annoyance.
In order to reduce the continued heavy burden on the health department during the pandemic, the Ludwigsburg health department will no longer send letters to infected persons from March 1. The duration of the isolation period is determined by the Corona Ordinance on Isolation. Important information can still be viewed on the pages of the district office or the Ministry of Social Affairs and the district's corona hotline on 07141 144-69400 is still available for queries.
In addition, the dashboard on the homepage of the district's website www.landkreis-ludwigsburg.de will be updated from the evening of the same day to the morning of the following day. The now very large volume of data makes this change necessary. The figures on the coronavirus situation in the district of Ludwigsburg will be updated by 10 a.m. in future.
