Glemsmühlenweg

The Glemsmühlenweg leads for almost 40 km from Glemsseck near Leonberg via Ditzingen, Korntal-Münchingen, Hemmingen, Schwieberdingen to Markgröningen-Unterriexingen. Along the scenically varied route with forests, farmland, meagre dry grassland as well as wetland and orchard meadows, 19 historic mills can be discovered.

Celtic Way

On approx. 35 kilometres, the Celtic Trail connects nine important sites of Celtic history in the district of Ludwigsburg. Via Asperg, Möglingen, Schwieberdingen, Markgröningen, Hochdorf, Hemmingen, Schöckingen and Hirschlanden, the route leads past graves and excavation sites to Ditzingen. The highlight is the Celtic Museum in Hochdorf/Enz with a reconstructed Celtic village complex and a detailed replica of the burial chamber of the Celtic prince.

Enztal Cycle Path

The Enztal Cycle Path runs for just over 100 kilometres from the source of the Enz near Enzklösterle to its mouth in the Neckar in Walheim. Numerous places along the route invite you to stop and sample the local specialities. Highlights in the Ludwigsburg district include Kaltenstein Castle in Vaihingen/Enz, the delicious wines along the river and Besigheim as the most beautiful wine town in 2010.

Neckartal Cycle Route

The Neckar Valley Trail leads from the source of the Neckar near Villingen-Schwenningen to Mannheim, almost without any ascents and steadily downhill. This long-distance cycle route, which is around 350 km long, is therefore also ideally suited for cycling beginners and families with children. In the district of Ludwigsburg, the cycle path leads through the most beautiful wine views along the steep slopes. Beautiful views and idyllic nature experiences alternate with busier stretches.

Stromberg-Murrtal Cycle Path

Stromberg-Murrtal Cycle Path

The Stromberg-Murrtal Cycle Route connects picturesque river valleys, idyllic half-timbered towns and wine villages, two nature parks and two UNESCO World Heritage Sites. From Karlsruhe to Gaildorf it goes on 150 kilometers once across the "Ländle". The section in the district of Ludwigsburg delights, among other things, with the picturesque old town in Bietigheim-Bissingen and Schiller's heritage in the cultural town of Marbach am Neckar.

Remstal Cycle Route

The Remstal Cycle Path runs for around 106 km from Weinstadt-Endersbach to Remseck am Neckar and then along the river Rems to Aalen. Along the way you will pass traditional inns, wineries, cosy wine taverns and beer gardens.

Württemberg Wine Cycle Route

Württemberg Wine Cycle Route

The Württemberger Weinradweg leads from Niederstetten in the Tauber valley through Hohenlohe and the Heilbronner Land to Ludwigsburg past Stuttgart through the Rems valley and Esslingen to Tübingen and Rottenburg. In the district of Ludwigsburg, the route runs along the Neckartal cycle path. This is also signposted throughout with the logo of the Württemberg Wine Cycle Route. The entire Württemberger Weinradweg has a length of 354.4 kilometres and a medium degree of difficulty. Three secondary routes - "Kirbachtal", "Schozach-Bottwar" and "Stromberg" - lead predominantly through the district.

German Half-Timbered House Road - From the Neckar to the Black Forest and Lake Constance

The long-distance cycle route connects towns and communities with remarkable half-timbered buildings along the German Half-Timbered House Route. In the district of Ludwigsburg, coming from the north, one stage leads via Bönnigheim, Kirchheim a.N., Walheim, Besigheim, Bietigheim-Bissingen and Vaihingen/Enz. From Bietigheim-Bissingen, the eastern branch goes via Ingersheim, Freiberg a.N., Benningen, Marbach a.N. and Steinheim/Murr to the district border, while the western branch follows the Enz River and makes a detour from Unterriexingen to Markgröningen.
