Brief profile
The responsibilities of the staff in Department III include ensuring the protection of citizens from a variety of hazards. For example, they ensure that existing laws and regulations are observed in the areas of weapons, trade, vehicle registration and driving licences. They are also there to help and advise clients in the matters relating to foreigners or naturalisations. In addition, Department III is also responsible for transport and roads, which include improving local public transport, upgrading roads, signage and, in the cold seasons, snow clearing services. Further responsibilities are fire and disaster control as well as the county fire brigade.
