Contact person for the concerns of people with disabilities
A contact point for citizens seeking advice has been created at the Ludwigsburg District Office with the appointment of a contact person for disabled people. Disabled people are advised on specific issues and directed to the right and responsible contact person.
The central challenge for the municipal representative for the interests of people with disabilities is the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The full and equal participation of people with disabilities, young and old, in all areas of society must be achieved. This is not about special rights for people with disabilities but about indivisible basic and human rights that apply to everyone. Indispensable prerequisites for this are changes and improvements in the district, in the cities and municipalities in many respects. The goals must be the inclusive city, the municipality, the district or local area, the realization of accessibility in all respects, i.e. in housing, in public space, in public transport, in the field of work, in language and in the care and education system. The municipal representative for the interests of people with disabilities has to give suggestions and impulses, to support local initiatives, so that this goal is realised step by step 10 years after the adoption of the Convention. According to the State Disability Equality Act, Ms Lychacz also fulfils the function of a mediator between people with disabilities and the district.
